Member Spotlight – Ray DeLuca

As The Imperial Sovereign Court of All Connecticut celebrates 25 years of doing good in our state and community, we want to celebrate the folx who make our success possible, our members. Each week we will highlight one of our members and ask them questions about themselves and The ISC of All CT.

Today we highlight Emperor 2005 Raymond DeLuca:

  • 1. When did you join the organization, and how long have you been associated with it?
    • I joined the Imperial Sovereign Court of All Connecticut approximately 26 or 27 years ago. Initially, I was part of the Nutmeg Court, which preceded the ISC of All CT. My involvement with the organization has been deeply fulfilling, reflecting my long-standing dedication to its mission and values.
  • 2. How did you hear about the ISC of All CT?
    • My journey with the ISC of All CT began in 2000 when I, along with other founding members, helped establish the organization. Michael Morgan, known in the community as Morgana DeLuxe, was instrumental in my involvement. At that time, I was a member of the Hartford Harlettes, and we had performed at Bambi Lee’s step-down event as one of her swans. This connection sparked my active engagement with the ISC of All CT.
  • 3. What interested you in joining the organization?
    • I was motivated to join the ISC of All CT primarily to contribute to our community through fundraising. I have always been passionate about supporting causes that benefit those in need, and the ISC of All CT offers a significant platform to effect meaningful change through our charitable activities and events.
  • 4. Please give 3 to 5 adjectives to describe the ISC of All CT.
    • • Friendly: The ISC of All CT is known for its welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, where every member feels part of a supportive and caring community.
    • • Fun: Our events are always lively and full of joy, reflecting the vibrant spirit of the ISC of All CT.
    • • Family: The sense of belonging and camaraderie within the organization is profound, with bonds that feel like those of a close-knit family.
  • 5. What is your fondest memory or moment with the organization?
    • • One of my most cherished memories is from my time as the Baron of Hartford County with the Nutmeg Court. We hosted a memorable event called the Trailer Park event at the Chez. We creatively transformed a camper and performed a series of playful, “trashy” songs. This event was a wonderful display of our creativity and humor and remains a highlight of my experience
    • Another significant moment was when I became Emperor in 2005 with my Empress, Jezebel. We had the incredible opportunity to travel across the country to visit other chapters within the court system. It was an enriching experience that broadened my perspective and deepened my connection with the broader community.
  • 6. Where would you like the organization to go in the future?
    • Looking ahead, I envision the ISC of All CT expanding its outreach by hosting more events within the straight community. This area represents a significant opportunity for growth and could help further strengthen and expand our chapter.

Northeast Ursamen – S&M Dinner

As The Imperial Sovereign Court of All Connecticut celebrates 25 years of doing good in our state and community, we also want to celebrate the folx who we support. Many of our members are involved in other organizations, and we are invited to attend / perform at their events. This past weekend, we had an amazing time at the S&M (Spaghetti and Meatballs) dinner hosted by the Northeast Ursamen and Connecticut Bear Chris Coyne. It was a night of great food, community and entertainment.
